EXCLUSIVE OR SHARE?
Exclusive: An exclusive charter is ideal for 1-6 people who wish to have access to multiple fishing poles. If you want to go specifically for marlin - you must do an exclusive! You will have a blast, the captain will help you target your game fish, and give you personalized angling instructions while the trip is focused entirely on you and your party`s catches. Exclusive prices range average from $450-$600 for 4 hours, $600-$750 for 6 hours, and $750 and up for 8 hours.
Shares: Shares or make-up charters are ideal for one to two people looking for a fun, leisurely fishing trip. Rods and fishing time may be rotated and smaller fish are targeted so hopefully all anglers have a chance to catch something. The boats take from 4 to 8 anglers and possible additional ride-alongs. Prices range from $95-$150 for 4 hours and $250 per person for 8 hours.
FULL, THREE QUARTER OR HALF DAY? Full day shares are 8 hours. Three quarter days are 6 hours. Half day shares are 4 hours.
Most full day exclusives are 8 hours, however, some of the top rated boats offer extended days. The half day can go up to 5 hours and full days up to 10 hours. Three-quarter days, also available, are 6 hours.
BOATS? Our fleet ranges in length from 30 to 53-feet. We have Bertram, Hatteras, Merritt, Innovator, Rybovich, Uniflite and more makes of boats available. Each boat offers varied amenities which could include A/C, TV, VCR, microwave and a refrigerator.
CAPTAINS? All charter boats are run by USCG licensed captains. Our captains vary in experience, some born and raised in Hawaii and others coming from other exotic fishing destinations. Each has his own specialty, catch history and reputation. Some smaller boats are captain only, no firstmates..
SPECIES OF FISH? We have big game fish all year round. Pacific blue marlin, striped marlin, shortnose spearfish, ‘ahi, skip jack tuna, mahi mahi and ono are most common. We can also have sailfish, black marlin, broadbill swordfish, albacore tuna, and shark
DISPOSITION OF FISH? In Hawaii, the fish caught belong to the boat. Most fish are sold and considered as income for the captain, crew . However, there are specific boats that have adopted the policy "keep your catch". Any desired portion of smaller fish that can be realistically consumed while here on the island will be cut and distributed
TAG & RELEASE? Most captains here will honor the request of any angler that wishes to tag and release any billfish hooked. Express this concern before choosing a boat .
TROPHY MOUNTING? Your captain is an authorized representative for the taxidermist. He will discuss your options with you on the boat at your request.
FOOD AND BEVERAGES? Bring your own food and drink. The Fish Dock Deli & Store is located next to our office and open daily at 6 am. Fresh pastries, coffee, sandwiches and other food items are available for purchase.
WHAT ELSE TO BRING? Sunscreen, sun glasses, hats, visors, cameras, non black soled shoes.
INCLUSIONS? All tackle, coolers and ice are supplied by your chartered boat. You do not need to purchase a fishing license.
RESERVATIONS AND PAYMENT? To make a reservation, we need a valid credit card number to hold the reservation. No charge will be made until your charter day when you check in and decide to leave it on the card or pay with a check or cash. A 4.166% state tax will be added to the rate. Less than 48 hours cancellation is subject to full charge.
GRATUITIES? It is customary to tip your captain and crew on a scale of 15% to 20% of the charter rate according to the quality of services rendered.
